Unit Goals:
1. Students will be able to understand the cause and effects of the events of the Cold War
2. Students will have a knowledge of the similarities and differences between Communism and Democracy
3. Students will better understand the view points and political stances of the nations leaders at this time
Unit Objectives:
- When given a guided notes sheet on the cold war, students will be able to fill it in following with the PowerPoint.
- When asked about the leaders of either the U.S. or Soviet Union, students will be able to gather information and present the stand points and motives of their chosen countries leaders during the Cold War
- When shown a Pros & Cons chart of Communism vs. Democracy, students will be able to identify the similarities and differences of the political views of each country during the cold war
- Given a poster board, students will be able to draw maps of the events of the Cuban Missile Crisis and explain the cause and effects of each event
- When asked certain review questions while playing Jeopardy, students will be able to answer them from prior knowledge gained through other lessons
